IMDB has a huge list of it's top 250 movies. For shits, I went through and put an X next to ones I saw and bolded the ones I love.

Mine. The ones that I just like are going to be.... I don't know underlined, but I don't get out much or... watch movies much.




From the one that I copied I only added like one X.... and deleted a lot more then that.

IMO, most of those are worthwhile films, some are excellent.

I will only say that the Kurosawa films (especially Ikiru and Ran, as well as Seven Samurai and Rashomon) are very much favorites of mine. Red Beard should be on that list too (unless I overlooked it).

Quick count so I might have missed a few, 37 films on that list I haven't seen.

Honerable mentions for me:

Unforgiven, to me the best western movie ever made;
Das Boot, whether in German or English a very powerful movie;
Duck Soup, The Marx brothers epic masterpiece;
Ran, Kurosawa is brilliant, his films epic;
The Great Dictator, Charles Chaplin's indictment to National Socialism before the second world war truly got started with the invasion of France.

I'm going through the list and looking for movies I haven't seen and am interested in and adding them to my netflix queue, either for DVD rental or in my instant watch list. Smile
