Damn, I'm developing a taste for apologetics !
Wonder what I can do for the fucking Mormons ??? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Quote:Richard Carrier is an unemployed (and, probably, unemployable) academic whose "credentials" are questionable at best. What the fuck are you talking about? He has a PH. D in ancient history from Columbia. Do you? Or are just some guy waving a bible around and saying "oh, yes...this is what happened." Stay ignorant if you like. No skin off the end of my dick. But stop being a fucking moron about it. Where is Carrier employed right now? Is he a faculty member anywhere? If so, I withdraw my comment, but as far as I can tell, he holds no position within the Academy. As for me, I admit that I have no credentials whatsoever; however, the views that I am expressing are firmly within the bounds of modern scholarship, and I think that the evidence for a historical Jesus is as strong as the evidence for a historical Julius or Augustus Caesar. Other than Robert Price and Carrier, you can't point to any New Testament, classical or any other scholar, for that matter, who embraces the mythicist position. |
