First 45 (or track) and LP (or CD) you bought

What's a 45?
Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Somewhere between 1966 and 1968 I bought my first 45's: Can't Get No Satisfaction by the Stones and The Letter by the Box Tops. Bought them the same night at Sears store in Maryland.

1976, ELO, A New World Record. I was eleven, and skateboarding in a park in Teheran when the single from that album came through the speakers. I damned-near wrecked -- the guitar just sounded amazing. As I wrote another time:
Quote:It wasn’t long after that that the same DJ, Ted Hawkins, played the song that was to change my life forever: “Do Ya” by the Electric Light Orchestra. In those days before Walkmans®, we carried our music around on what came to be called “ghetto blasters” or just “blasters”; and I was doing so one day in the park with our huge Sony, grinding my skateboard on the stair-rails when I heard this incredible sound pouring out of my speakers. I immediately stopped my riding, in fact, I almost fell, and I gave the radio the attention it commanded. The sound was unaccompanied electric guitar, three simple chords, and to this day it sends chills down my spine. It sounded like a thousand sheets of paper being ripped, in tune, like the fabric of the world itself being torn apart, this guitar did, punctuated by dead silence. It was the sound of my ears being yanked open. RE: First 45 (or track) and LP (or CD) you bought

8 track exclusionist.
5th Dimension, Age of Aquarius LP, summer of 1970, trying to get the attention of the hot girl two cabins down who had a thing for the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjxSCAalsBE
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
I was eleven, it was on cassette, and it was a classic...
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
Oh man...I think it would've been a 3-CD Bob Marley greatest hits, probably about 1998-2000. So I would've been about 4-6. I was a MASSIVE Bob Marley fan when I was little, I loved that album
