I hope this becomes the impetus for the Republican Party to really rethink everything they've been doing and change for the better. Of course, they won't because, in politics, owning up to your own mistakes is suicide.

Perhaps, but did the RNC do everything they could to disassociate themselves from Romney while the election was still going on like they've been doing with Trump lately? No.

True, Rev, that the Republicans are disassociating themselves from Trump, but you know as well as I that if Trump had employed dog whistle statements instead of open bigotry that they'd all be supporting him 100%. And seeing the number of Trump campaign signs around my neck of the woods, it looks like many people are perfectly fine with all the awful things he says. So there will still be a home for bigotry in the Republican Party for some time to come, but they'll never win the White House with it.

In terms that will make sense to anyone as familiar with Dostoevsky as I am, Trump has become the Svidrigailoff to the RNC's Raskolnikov, but I can't see that many Republicans willing to play the part of Sonia.
It's blindingly obvious that the only way the Republican Party can survive is by taking a good, hard, look at themselves, really try to figure out where things went wrong besides "they choked!," and actually attempt to rectify them. That said, as the increasingly radical nature of the Republican Party has demonstrated, not that many are likely to even try it.

Of course not, Romney was one of them and the fuckers were SURE he was going to win...right up until he went down the shitter. Republicunts cannot conceive of a white man losing to one of them thar nigras.
It was after the loss that the most fascistic wing of the party decided they lost because Romney was a flawed candidate...not because their fucktarded policies would reduce the US to the status of a 3d world country.
So they decided they would do the autopsy and target all those groups who voted against them in droves. Then as soon as the primaries started, they put up a band of shitwits who did nothing but insult those same groups.
The King of Shitwitters emerged with the nomination. And that is what will happen next time because the brain trust of the party is completely out of touch with the assholes who cast the votes.
