I think that other countries do it; shouldn't the USA, also? When you are voting for President, you should have the option of choosing a second candidate of choice!

Time for a run-off system?

I don't know of any country doing that, but that may just be my lack of information. We have a knockout system. Usually there are four to five candidates and the two scoring the highest go into the run-offs a few weeks later.

That would probably be too expensive for America, but when I voted here on the 8th, we had county seats open for the "top 4" candidates. Certainly, the ballot would be easily structured, so that 1) Pick your FIRST choice for US President; 2) Pick your SECOND choice, if any, for US President.
