For the uninitiated, it's basically people looked at an email dump, determined they were code messages because emails without context are super secret code word filled mails by default. But they weren't creepy enough yet, so some intelligent people figured out that if they replaced all pizza references with pedophile related references the emails suddenly seem like satanic emails, and hence it was concluded that they must've been about a globe trotting pedoring.
