Request from a Christian.

Request from a Christian.
Hello, By the title you should easily tell I don't belong here. I would like to make a request on the atheist community.  Within Christianity we have what we call testimonies and that is our story, of how we were converted, and what events in our life lead up to our conversion. I would like to ask for negative experiences you guys have had with Christians. I'm toying around with writing a book on how Atheists are treated by Christians.

I've thought about this problem for a long time. Organized religion has always had people within the Church who treat you guys, and well everyone else for that matter badly. I had a experience with it. There was a young women in our Church who believed/was (she was) Bi-sexual, she dressed in that kinda gothic look they go for. And one of the ladies in the church took out a handful of dimes threw them to her feet and called her a dime hore. I've heard many more stories of this in the gaming/debate groups I keep; And with a little research I have come up with many other stories of what I would call hatred as well. I'm not here to egg you on into a debate, and i'm not here to cause a fuss. And to be honest im not sure if I will follow through with the book. But if you are interested I would like to hear what you have to say.

I know im asking for personal details, so to break the Ice let me provide anyone who wishes a link to my testimony. And please don't take this as me trying to convert you or anything.

I've had a motorcycle vandalized by Christians, I've had rocks thrown through my windows by Christians, I had to buy a house through a front because the owners instructed the estate agents not to sell to non-Protestants, and I was very nearly killed by a bomb planted by Christian militants.

On a smaller scale, I've had to put up with Christians who visit this board without - clearly - having read the rules first.

I'm British so Christianity isn't really a thing over here and if it is it is generally kept rather quiet we are British after all.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

This is an atheist forum, but we welcome Christians. You belong here, so no worries about that.

If you want examples of negative experiences from Christians from me, then I can help. When I came out as transgender, my parents used whatever they could find in the bible to argue with me, and then ostracized me from the family as much as they could. They still contact me sometimes, but not without saying something hurtful. I try to distance myself from them because of this, but then they try to make me look bad to the rest of the family for doing so.

I'll note that this applies to a select few Christians and I don't blame others for it. I'm dating a Christian right now, so I'm fine with those who don't include hate in their religion. I prefer to be the live and let live type, but there's always those who don't agree with me.

One of my friends keeps trying to get me to dress goth, but I haven't given in yet. Maybe you have to be a teenager and bisexual, but I skipped that phase back then.

I'm in the UK.

Christians have told me long boring stories and taught me some bullshit when I was very young.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Sure, it's not as big as it is in the US but it is still fairly popular in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

I wonder how many Christians actually hold their balls when giving 'testimony'.
