Among the regulars, we don't really have any "Atheist butts" in Dawkins' sense of the phrase, I think.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Do nasal excretions count as a food group?

Also, I'm particularly partial to a nice hot lady salad, from what I remember anyway.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Welcome. I'm not a fan of Sam Harris and think his main strength is in how well he sells himself but I do understand why people like him.

While I don't agree with everything Sam says, what exactly is wrong with making a living? If you write books, you market them. Harry Potter author does the same. If you want a shameless self promoter who doesn't get anything right and is a selfish fuck, well that asshole is going to take the oath on the 20th.

I have read a couple of his books, and watched tons of his videos.

"The End of Faith" is a very apt description of how religion can lead humans to do very horrible things.

"Letter To A Christian Nation" also a very apt book describing why right wing Christians are wrong and why we most certainly ARE NOT a theocracy.

And his condemnation of Trump this past year is a very needed alarm unfortunately he and others were not widely listened to enough.

I do have problems with his promotion of Buddhism and his tendency to be over protective of Israel. But no, I don't think he is a shameless self promoter. I think he is merely earning a living selling what he believes can benefit humanity. I don't agree with all of it, no.

I liked the "End of Faith" and "letter to a Christian Nation".  The latter was succinct and to the point.

I have read some of Harris's other books, with varying appreciation.

I didn't actually join Harris's forum, I did not want to be a regular on an authors web-site associated forum.

I joined Project Reason.  It's supposed purpose was to promote rational thinking (not books).  Harris was the owner of that site
Last year, Harris decided to merge the Sam Harris Forum with the Project reason forum.  Project Reason is now out of existence.
So here I am waiting to see if the Sam harris forum is going to turn in to a book promotion site or remain a general discussion site like "Atheists Forum".

"End of Faith" and "Letter to a Christian Nation" are great sources of information for atheists like me.  Not so his other books.
Those 2 books are very compelling.
I like those 2 books.
I have never met him so I don't know if I would "like" him.

He does not interact on his own forum.
