I want a list of the most shocking ones. I'll probably get into a conversation about it at some point and Christians have a way of ignoring or explaining away a lot of things. I think things like genocide and animal cruelty and stoning a kid for disobedience have more of a punch. Smile

Here's a few:
1.  2 Kings 6:28-29
2.  Jeremiah 19:7-9
3.  Lamentations 2:20-22
4.. Leviticus 26:29

This one I don't like as much because it's just someone explaining something that happened as a result of a siege, but I like the other ones better because it's saying God caused it to happen.

Just select the cruelty and violence link.

Then memorize them all!

I tried it. It refreshed my memory on the 42 kids that were killed by bears for mocking a man of god. Seriously! This story was told at Sunday school to kids and we accepted it as a good ending! Lol! Christians can be so cruel and not even realize it.

All of the biblical stories are based upon one of the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 34:11-28.  Sometimes the stories emphasize what happens to the individual who violates one of the Ten Commandments and other times it emphasizes what happened to the Israelites when they abandoned or followed the Ten Commandments.

Those stories are based upon the 10th Commandment, Exodus 34:26 (NKJV) = "You shall not not a young goat in its mother's milk".

Can't get any more shocking than that.
Ah, and here you've gracefully yet bluntly noted the flaw of much of the Christian beliefs system. It is illogical from that perspective. The Christ of GOD sacrificed himself for the sake of man and life; not as a payment as many would have you think exactly; but as an example.

As far as the atrocities in the ot are concerned, the majority are generally taken out of context and explained with a literal understanding, or more appropriately; lack there of. The actual historical recounting of atrocities committed by man under the supposed direction of GOD, are a display of the known misdirection of the Jew stated repeatedly in the ot and by the Christ.

If a robot was able to have and wholly abide by the selfless conscience for the sake of profitable existence and advancement of all then, yes, I would feel safe with it, as long as I could reference the code to be certain.

Just my opinion.

This is crazy. I had no idea there was another set of commandments carved upon stone and brought down to the people with a radiant face. How come nobody ever mentions those commandments?! I know my Bible pretty damn well and I've never heard of this one. Interesting. Thanks.

Malachi 2:16

"For I hate divorce!" says the LORD, the God of Israel. "To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies. "So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife."

Man, taking the fun out of being fucking president !! Gee God, why be such a spoil sport ??

Is there no limit to God's cruelty to republican leaders ??
