Do we need the NSA?

Do we need the NSA?
I believe that this agency is a waste of tax payer money in many ways, they are not very effective at what they do. They have done many illegal actions to American and citizens of other countries. They monitor the internet, your phone calls, and text messages collection millions of gigabytes of useless data that does not apply to any to any existing cases or groups. The whole agency is corrupt and needs to be dismantled and a mass apology needs to be issued for the actions they have done. This would be a start to restoring our privacy putting back the laws we once had that requires a court order to processed further looking into ones internet or personal files. In conclusion, we do not need them as they are a privacy menace to everyone.

Very often, people ask opinions of other people who are utterly unqualified to offer an opinion. That makes the opinion useless.

I for one am honest enough to admit that I don't know. Give me the benefit of a thorough briefing by national security experts on the current situation and let me here the thoughts of educated privacy advocates and maybe I might have what I need to form a meaningful opinion. Otherwise, it's a gut reaction and useless.

I'd say the counter-intelligence part of the NSA is very important. It's not quite the same agency it used to be, though.

There is plenty of evidence supporting the reasons to disband the NSA, look at the Snowden files for your self. Those files contain some pretty spooky stuff about what they have done. The after of the 9/11 terror attack brought upon these issues were dealing with now. Tapping Americans phones and emails, all of out of fear of a small percentage of terrorists. Do remember when the Germans caught us spying on them? They pulled Americans pants down in front of the world, I wish they gave them a wedgie as well. As unreliable as Russian news is, it does hold some truth to what is going at the moment.

Plenty of other leaks as happened as well, through hackers braking into the NSA, FBI, and the CIA. I think it's good that are getting exposed, if you have a media company willing to challenge the wrongs done by these agency's. The more people learn about this subject the better. It's getting harder to defend the actions of these groups,

I misread the title as 'Do we need NASA?' and was about to reply, 'Of course, dafuck is wrong with you??'

I have no opinion as to whether you need the NSA.

That part I can agree with, but the entire agency has grown to too large for the good of the country. If we can't disband it, could we downsize it to rid of it's mass spy capabilities?

Without the NSA how would we know that the WLB had sold us out to Putin?

No. They misuse it. How do they expect to actually get anything productive done, when they bypass the warrant process and let themselves get flooded with useless information? Like trying to find a needle in a haystack, because the don't wait until they have evidence of something before pursuing action. Just a rubber stamp from the FISA court, and they take everything.

Exactly, they waste tax payers dollars on those massive servers of data what was illegally collected. I think we all have some fucked up internet history. Hey Chad how is that midget mime on clown porn?
