This Friday (28 April) would have been Terry Pratchett's 68th birthday. If you at all appreciate this good and great and stupendously talented man, recognize him by taking to heart some of the reams of good advice he gave us:
-Evil begins when you begin to treat people as things
-It's not worth doing something unless you were doing something that someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren't doing.
-The harder I work, the luckier I become.
-Nothing anybody can say or devise is going to be perfect.
-In ancient times, cats were worshipped as gods. They haven't forgotten this, and neither should we.
-The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they’ve found it.
- It’s still magic even if you know how it’s done.
-The entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, © run away from, and (d) rocks. Try not to get these muddled up.
- I’d rather be a rising ape than a falling angel.
-Goodness is about what you do, not what you pray to.
