I like dubbed because I can leave it playing on my monitor while I'm playing a video game on TV and still be listening to it even if I'm not fully watching it.

Yeah, Astonished that is another reason I like dubbed anime.

The Anime Club at Purdue used to get in fights about "dubbed vs subtitled". Every once in a while I'd have to drag out a hose and cool them off. I finally got them to do one of each on movie nights. "The battle was so fierce because the prize was so small."

But I like both. And both have shit shows. Actually, if you get down to it, in both; there is more crap than good stuf.  But the same goes for any medium from books to YouTube clips to tv-shows and music. For every 'Sakamoto desu ga?', 'deathnote' & 'One Punch man' on the one hand and futurama, south park & Darkwing Duck on the other, you have dozens and dozens of inferior shows.
In any case, I applaud the mixing of these two styles we see more often nowadays. Avatar the Last Airbender, and the legend of Korra, are two of my favorite shows of the past decade-and-a-half. And I'd label them either both cartoon and anime, or at least a hybrid of the two.

Man I love Avatar. Never considered it anime tho.

I saw this and was reminded of this thread.
You might still disagree, but I think he lays out rather well why I think ATLA and ATLOK are t least a hybrid, if not full-fledged both cartoon and anime.

What fuckwits would watch a dubbed anime?  Half the people at that club were right, and half of them were uncivilized savages!

They are Americanime, just as the Boondocks are. That means an American animation in the style of an anime. Some can be good, like Avatar, Boondocks, and Castlevania, but most are bad and just shallow kid's cartoons.

There's a Castlevania animated series? Holy crap! I just hope if they ever make a live-action movie out of it, Uwe Boll doesn't get to direct...I don't want him desecrating one of the better action platformer series out there.

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Just depends on if the dubbers put the effort in. I can name half a dozen that had really great dubs just off the top of my head. Don't see what the hell people get so damn picky about.

On the whole I prefer subbed. But I've seen a few dubbed DB super clips and Goku just sounds so god damn weird man! :p

I guess it's what you are used to.

I watched black lagoon dubbed. Couldn't find it subbed anywhere. Voice acting wasn't bad.
