It isn't asking anyone to feel sorry for me, but more just venting. I will be ok. Just for this instance I mentioned in the OP it is performance anxiety. If I am not used to something, and taking a new risk I freak out. I want a poem to get published and this would be outside that thread so my lifetime flaws get magnified in cases like this.

But no, I am certainly not the only one with these problems.

Don't be so hard on yourself, too, Brian. I have typos and I don't always catch them either.

Yea usually I don't kick myself over that. But I do have an entire thread of poems in my sig that are full of misspelled words and typos, 18 pages long. Brian Sapient's website, that is my host, does not have a spellcheck ap that works with his website. Combine that with the fact that I rush to get my thoughts out, and would rather leave the mistake in than lose it by accidentally losing the poem by hitting the wrong key, which I have done before.

I am not a perfectionist. I look at my poetry more like a photographer "Shoot first ask questions later". Meaning the message matters more than the mistakes and take enough photographs eventually you take one that strikes a nerve.

I don't have a paid staff to check my spelling otherwise I really would not have an excuse. But still, when you hope you can get some exposure and it is considered by a major atheist org, it is nerve racking knowing you still sent spelling errors.

Well, I hope that works out for you. Shy
