A Pattern is Emerging

RE: A Pattern is Emerging
Well first off Thump... thank you for your service.

I don't know anyone that sleeps without the occasional nightmare, but there is no argument of the utility. The air force is a little different with the collateral damage, but the necessity is the same and sadly unarguable. I have a close friend that I ride sport bikes with that was a pilot in the Air Force and now works for a commercial air line. He's opened up with some deep shit that he wakes up with. It's natural, but even he's talked about bombing the boarder. And he's probably about the nicest guys that I know.

The boarder argument is a bit different than anything in the Middle East and I don't think the government will ever post riflemen and spotters on the boarder, but it would slow the flow for sure. It's the utility of it.

Hey. Problems are solvable. The government could do it, though it may not be too socially acceptable.
I would also be open to letting them in if they lived with an American citizen until they earned their citizenship. Would you open your house up to a family or two??? If you would, I can hook you up. My guess is that you're only okay with it as long as society as a whole pays for it.

Wow. Visions of death squads, a false dichotomy and a straw-man, all in one post.

Want my opinion immigration, try asking before you tell me what it is. Discourse rarely goes far with the tactics you're displaying.

Don't you think that plan will kill the tourist industry between the US and Mexico?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think I speak for the GI any more than you do. And I know that my anecdotes are just that. But none of the veterans I know support killing illegal immigrants. And if they did I probably would give them wide berth in the future for holding such ridiculously extreme views.

The fact is that humans are moral beings, insofar as we have that capacity to have moral considerations. Utility is a consideration for things, rather than people.
