Yup, but they didn't have nukes at their beck and call. I'd like to think that the officer carrying the football is also carrying a side arm, and when the shitgoblin wants the football, he gets something else.


If the shitgoblin ever tries to launch the nukes, then regardless of whether he succeeds, the most serious question Americans must ask themselves would be "could the America that could put a man like trump at the controls of its civilization ending nuclear arsenal be trusted with continuing to have its nuclear arsenal".

Americans would definitely scream yes.  But clearly continuation of humanity would say no.  From that time on, it would be hard to regard America as anything other than enemy of humanity.
