Greed happened to media. No, it is not a politicians role to vilify media in blanket terms. But if you can make a quick buck selling cheap bullshit like Duck Dynasty, WWE fake sports, or Jerry Springer, it works. Quick satisfaction in marketing works.

But don't confuse the general media with the ethics of journalism which is simply reporting without bias. There still are plenty of news entities and especially individual reporters whom have an objective goal.

There aren't many shows I like. Also I don't look to tv or netflix or hulu for morals.

I wish they still had Jerry. It was cruel and expletive yes, but there was always some sort of fascinating human interest story at some level.

While he was a scoundrel, Jerry had sort of a storyteller/ investigator's air about him.

There is Jerry now, it's just 3-4 different cut rate versions of him.

Most likely, when I was younger and less discriminating with less basis for comparison, media was better. Now I can point out its faults. I doubt any objective state of media happens to track with the stages of my life.
