I'm here.
I've been lurking around off and on for a little while; it wasn't until today that I decided to register.

quick bio:
age- 17
political- libertarian, but I sort of mix some other philosophies including my own as well.
religious- atheist and nihilist, was raised and am raised in an extremely conservative-Christian environment & area
hobbies- music (death/black/etc. metal & some classical), guitar, reading, some manga/anime, I run to keep fit also.
mbti (for those who care)- stereotypical INTP

Anything else? Just ask. I plan on hanging around for quite a while, but for now I'll only be marginally active due to studies and work.

Welcome!

What are you currently reading book-wise?

Silly "I don't know you but we both like to run for fitness" question - do you have a preferred brand of running shoe and can you run on a treadmill? I can't. Apparently I don't stick to a straight line.

Book-wise I've been reading Sleeper Code, but it's a quick read so I'll be done soon. Honestly, It isn't that entertaining because the writer spells everything out for you, but I got the book for free. So why not, right? I may read Hawking's new book soon or I may not; I wouldn't mind a few recommendations (I really don't have a preference for specific genre's). I'm not too picky about brands, but I've had the most luck with Adidas. Treadmills are last resort, and I prefer running around the neighborhood to a track. A lack of change in the surrounding scenery bothers me, and tracks' oval shape is disheartening. I wish I could explain that feeling, but I can't.

"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

"3.5 MHz (or NEC D780C-1 clone)" Damn, Sometimes I wish I was around in the old days of personal computer hardware. I'd like to have seen it (and UNIX even) evolve firsthand.
