I do think CBT is effective. There's enough about it online that you could apply it to your life without anyone to guide you, if expense is an obstacle.

Expense isn't an obstacle, for me. I don't have to pay for any treatment. It was decided at the time, mutually, to be not something I required. Especially the way this particular counsellor was going about it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
