Of course, this is something that happens to everyone.

And I certainly don't claim that these are any sort of "psychic" activity.  Just interesting coincidenced
I sometimes have nightmares where I'm dreaming that I'm awake in my bed just as I was before I fell asleep and started dreaming. As if no time had elapsed. Then the fun starts and scares the bejesus out of me!

Here's something weird.

Like most people, when I walk in a strange, deserted place at night I start having "what if" thoughts.

But I've worked night shift in a morgue and never been freaked out by it.

Perhaps I should join a ghost hunters' group.

Hmmmm....

My dad always told the story of the ghostly leg in a certain road in the community he grew up in; his tale was as simple as this: "everybody saw nothing. But when a certain point in the road is reached, a ghostly leg would be in the way to bring people down, nobody sees it, everybody knows about it".

He swears the story is true.

My mother on the other hand, says that in her family's home at night, sounds of water jars being filled is goes on randomly while nobody is outside.

The reason in both cases is thrown at "Jinn"s; creatures that we don't see, mentioned in the Quran, Hadith and Islam in general.
The same race as Satan; but some are good, some are bad.But many Muslims also believe that others are just bullies that scare humans, and that's how they scare people: spread their legs in a road to make people fall, produce spooky sounds...etc.

Personally, I believe they exist but can't interact with our dimension. And at least, the standards of "having fun through bullying" differ from our race to theirs'. And mainly cons fake hauntings and Jinn possession to sell their snake-oil like meds to "kick the demon out".

Leading to a similar scenario to the movie "The Exorcist":

On a side note; ignorance is a disaster.
If I was born in the Arab countryside; many will probably think that my M,S walk when the symptoms increase, is due to a demonic haunting. I think some people already think I'm bewitched in here anyways (or as Arabs say "Mokhawee/Rakboh Jinni/Saibah Een/Ma'mooloh Amal" -_-.

Somebody even advice my family to take me to a Shikh to "read Quran on me"

The video above; they think the woman is possessed by a Jinn.
The man is the "Sheikh" that reads Quran on the victim.

You know I just remembered I did once experience a real strange event and truly maybe someone could explain what happened.

When I was 13 a phone rang and I picked up the headphone, burped into a microphone and said 'Hello' and the person on the other side hanged up. Five minutes later a phone rings again, I pick it up and it was my friend, very upset and scared, telling me that he just called this other guy and that his dad picked up the phone and he could hear him burping like a pig and then saying 'Hello'. So then I immediately told him "No, you just called me and I burped into the phone" (this was before caller number display) to which he protested that it was not me but this guy's dad and I could not convince him it was me. I mean I guess he called me thinking that he was calling him, but still it's really strange that he also thought he heard this other voice. Could it be that he actually called him and he did the same thing as I did?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I read a news story once about a 4 year old boy who fell off his trike and knocked himself out.  When he regained consciousness a minute or so late, he was speaking fluent German.

Fucking amazing, the things that happen in Düsseldorf.

I don't either, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in reading about them.

So, does anyone have a favourite ghost story they'd like to share?

How about a personal experience you or someone close to you have had that you just can't explain?

I'll start:  When I was younger, my brother reported waking up in the middle of the night and seeing my father and grandfather standing in the doorway of his bedroom looking at him.

At the time my father was in Perth and my grandfather had been dead a couple of years.

Being the supportive older sister, I told him that he was either drunk or stoned (he was 12 at the time),

We put it down to a dream, but he still believes what he saw was real.

Sounds like a hypnagogic hallucination.

Off topic but, I have met a few oddities in my life. I once met a black woman who was absolutely gorgeous with a great figure! Since I am a medical professional (very low on the totem pole), I have to know the age for insurance purposes--she was 72! I asked her what her secret was and she said that she lived in the gym.

I know, and am friends, with a woman my age who is fabulously gorgeous with an exceptional figure and was both Homecoming Queen and Prom Queen in high school. I asked her what her measurements were when she was in school. She said, "34x18x36". That just melts my brain! And that was in the day when women wore hip huggers!

I met an older woman with an ass so sweet, it would give you a toothache! I asked her what was her secret. She said that she is part of a paddleboard club and they have paddle safaris. I was sitting on my lanai when they paddled by. I noticed that every female had the same sweet ass. I would join that club and take up the rear as I am a smoker!

I once had another patient who was gorgeous, I mean GORGEOUS! She was 65! I asked her what she did for a living. She said that she sells antiaging products!
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".

I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9

I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!

When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!

I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.

1978. My grandfather was in terrible condition from Emphysema. I was 19 years old. Having went off on my own , only to fail and return to my parents home. I was distraught about my grandpa. I decided to chill out by taking a walk in the desert with my Irish Setter. I parked just south of the Waddell Dam north of Phoenix  We walked a few miles and the sun was setting. I could not find my pick up truck. My training in desert survival taught me not to panic. I knew I was in the right vicinity. I began to walk in an outward spiral knowing my truck was nearby. As me and my dog walked in expanding concentric circles a pack of coyotes had surrounded us and were walking in circles with us. I knew coyotes were not a threat but were extemely curious. They yipped and I continued until I ran into my forest green truck (1964 F150) parked under a Mesquite tree. I drove home late. My mother met me at the door and pointed her finger at me "You were lost in the desert and dogs were following you!"

I might consider my Mother psychic but she has not got anything right since '78.
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!
