Reputable secular charities that I can give to?

Reputable secular charities that I can give to?
By secular, I'm NOT demanding that there be no Christians, or any other religious people, in a charitable organization-just that they don't ask for prayers, and don't believe that disasters and illness are the result of things like voodoo practices. By reputable, I do mean that I want to donate to charities where the money actually gets to those who are hurting, and isn't sucked up by a huge bureaucracy. Any suggestions are welcome!

Thoughout the Pakistan floods my support has been for Islamic Relief mainly because it made sense to me that an islamic charity would be effective in an islamic country. Islamic relief are part of the Disasters Emergency Committee which not set up on any religious basis even though it includes several religiously-labelled charities.

My view of secularism is that the aims of an organisation should be non-religious, it should not demand any religious observance of its beneficiaries but equally that it should recognise the needs of both religious and non-religious people in their target geographical regions proportionately to their actual numbers.

The problem is that Christian flood victims are being discriminated against in the distribution of aid.

Quote:Many of the suffering Christian families in the region are being denied any assistance because they are Christians. For some, the sole place of refuge is a local mosque, where extremist strongholds are strongest and Christians are, in fact, most vulnerable.

For Muslim Background Believers who have been in hiding, the situation is particularly dire as they are now more exposed than ever. News sources have reported increasing extremist violence against Christians, including demands to either vacate the region or convert to Islam.

His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

The problem? I think the problem is the water. There may be discrimination against Christians, but there again there is discrimination against muslims elsewhere. But if you can find any evidence (other than a one-liner on a US Christian website offering prayers) that the DEC partners discriminate against Christians in Pakistan you should present it.

No, no...they offer prayers. What they want is your money.

Prayers are very cheap.

Whoa Oxfam? Sorry but that's actually an example of one of the bureaucratic organisations he was trying to avoid funding.

They're almost as controversially corrupt as Sustrans where they rigged The People's £50million Lottery Giveaway show, just so they fucking tarmac over the UK's once-great railway infrastructure.
