First lead-lead collisions at the LHC
A freaking cool set of pictures from the first pb collisions, these are from the ALICE detector.

Looks like the ALICE team have a lot of work ahead of them, the number of particles generated compared to the proton-proton collisions is four fold higher.

Those images are far too big (in both actual screen size, and in terms of MBs). I've changed them to links. They are pretty awesome though.

I originally changed them to imgfit tags, but then realised that the reason my browser was being slow was that each image was around 1MB in size. Imgfit is working fine.
