For whats sake?

No sorry, we  are dealing with a 1 party what IS putting profits over our environment. I wish the obvious need to protect other species and to reduce pollution were NOT a political issue, but it is. Instead of getting angry at me you should be angry at the party that is hurting our planet.

I didn't make it political, they did and those who support the wrong side of history who are ignoring the problem are whom you should be angry at, not me.

Tell me something, Brian:  Apart from the lame TV shows and mediocre pop music you see so fixated on, have you ever looked at something mildly amusing and taken it at face value, just for the enjoyment of it, without turning it into some political screed?

The baby elephant chasing the birds is cute, it's fecking adorable.  Are you somehow constitutionally unable to look at it and just, I dunno, smile?

That baby elephant is shamelessly spreading the republican agenda and Brian is not going to sit by quietly while that little fucker runs this country into the ground.[/sarcasm]

Boru, am I the only one who thinks the other Brian needs to have "Why so Serious Batman?!" tattooed permanently to his forehead? It will be useful for whenever he confronts the bathroom mirror.

Yup, my words exactly, before I scrolled down to see your response. That baby elephant was as funny as a 100-pound kitten chasing birds!  Great

Brian37 has no whimsy mode. It seems he is incapable of taking a step back, putting all the strife of the world on the back burner and appreciating a rainbow for being a rainbow. He MUST point out the fallacy of thinking there is a pot of gold at the end of it. He is incapable of joy.

Brian, I take no joy in pointing this out. I also have some of the same problem. I have a hard time distinguishing between light-hearted ribbiing and genuine attacks on me so I know how it feels.

Jesus, make the effort to lighten-up. Boru's thread was an attempt to draw attention to what innocence there is in the world and to celebrate it. Are you incapable of that? Are you only capable of seeing the strife?

I hope you can find the room in your heart to see the good things in life (like the innocent play of a baby elephant) because if you can't, what's the point? There is certainly good in participating in the good fight to stop the ivory trade but if you can't appreciate the baby elephant, what the hell are you fighting for?

I think Boru's explicitly linking it to a rejection of politics has something to do with it.

It's not a rejection of politics. It's a plea to take a step back for a moment and appreciate what we are fighting for.
