The numbers don't add up, I have 117 gigabytes filled with something, but it's not apps, my data, or programs.
I suspect Windows is just filling memory with everything I click on, post, look at, whatever and Windows never gets rid of it.
Heck, I deleted Google Earth, 500 megs worth a couple days ago, what the eff could be that big to accumulate since then ? And let alone the over 1 gig I got rid of yesterday.
Without sufficient memory, Windows says it's not updating anymore, but I'm wondering if that's a clue and old updates are clogging memory.
Saw something called Reimage that claims to fix it in 2 minutes but I'm loathe to turn something loose on my laptop that might eff it up.
Anyone else running Windows 10 with no memory ??
Reimage is 10000000% malware. DO NOT.
I just removed it off of my neighbor's computer two days ago. STAY AWAY.
When Windows updates to a new version, because Windows is so shitty, it keeps the old version so you can roll back when the update inevitably breaks your computer. Many times, there are several old copies of Windows taking up tens of GB.
Here's how to delete the old version of Windows:
Quote:Step 1: Click in Windows' search field, type Cleanup, then click Disk Cleanup.
Step 2: Click the "Clean up system files" button.
Step 3: Wait a bit while Windows scans for files, then scroll down the list until you see "Previous Windows installation(s)."
Step 4: Check the box next to the entry, then make sure there are no other boxes checked (unless you do indeed want to delete those items). Click OK to start the cleanup.

I think the <5 GB threshold is when you start getting the low disk space warnings with Windows.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
