Bear in mind, he hasn’t been anywhere near as high as 42% since at latest May. Only in the first few days of his reign has it even been a net positive. Trump is the only president to have never hit 50% during his tenure since Gallup started doing these presidential polls.

Also bear in mind that it was only last week that the stock market took a hit when Trump's tariffs got implemented. These polls are conducted over a few days and are usually delayed by 1-2 weeks. I'd expect his rating to go down again pretty soon. He didn't do any 401k holders favors.
