Paranoia or bigbrother?

The hiking boots I looked at was in a Kathmandu store. Ebay could have tried to promote anything from them stores, but the next morning they were advertising about 5 different pairs of sandals and about 5 different pairs of hiking boots. I can understand the wifi/gps picking my location in the shops themselves and trying to intelligently promote items for me to buy. But they knew exactly what I was looking at! It might've been some fluke Dunno  Not sure what else to say without sounding like a tinfoiler...

Next time you go to the mall, either leave your cell phone at home or wrap it in aluminum foil and take it with you, to see what happens. One layer of aluminum foil will pretty effectively block your phone from hooking up with the nearest tower, the slut.

I would say your on to something, I've noticed a similar pattern with Newegg. I was browsing "Unlocked phones" on a device that was never signed in to my Newegg account, then I got email about Unlocked phones from Newegg.

Paranoia or bigbrother?

BTW, just because one is paranoid, it does not follow that bigbrother isn't interested in you, your location, your purchases, your ability to pay, or your potential desire for new stuff.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Maybe I'm being naive but I LIKE targeted advertising as long as it isn't spam. I will NEVER respond to an email add or a pop-up add or any add which obscures content. But a non-obtrusive add targeted to my interests is good by me. Advertising is a fact of life. I would rather it be relevant to me. I am NOT in the market for penis enlargement or a Filipino mail-order bride. Better to see an add which actually interests me.

You can.

They just won't ignore you.

It actually goes way beyond that. I recently financed a vehicle and wasn't receiving correspondence with the finance company. Turns out, it was all in my Google spam folder. I had never looked in there before. Holy Shit! It turns out that there are women from Russia, Brazil, the Philippines, the Maldives and dozens of other places (some I've never even heard of) who desperately want my body. Of course, I'll need those enlargement and performance pills to satisfy their insatiable lust for me.

I never knew!!!

No. You should run out the front door of your house screaming, "You'll never take me alive, coppers!", while jacking rounds into your 8 gauge pump-action shotgun, shooting incendiary slugs. Come on, I know you have it! Our stealth mechanical rats have already surveilled your whole neighborhood.   Sleepy
