How do you pronounce it?

Like pole.
I believe in life before death.
I say it like pole. Where do people say pawl?
Most of the locals here would clip the “l” and it would sound more like poe.
I believe in life before death.
I don't pronounce it like either. Like Hammy I say it like Pol the beginning of pollen. But that's not how I say my own name or how anyone else says it.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. RE: How do you pronounce it?

Ala Pole. Here's another one..near and dear to me as a kentucky resident.
Versailles. ver'sai.........or vur'sales? Hillbillies prefer the latter and look at you like you have a dick growing out of your forehead if you use the former. (there's also a London and a Frankfort, they pronounce those differently...and obviously spell one of them differently)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I picked Paul in the poll just because I definitely don't say it like "Paw" lol. So it was the closest option. Yeah it's like pol. Us British folks pronounce it as it's spelled. I don't see how the extra "l" makes a difference! Haha. But I heard Jimmy Carr pronounce it like "Pole" and I thought huh? I thought you were British! And he is. So apparently some Brits say it like Americans lol. |
