I’m a single long-haul truck driver so yeah, I pretty much feel lonely most days. I’m thinking about getting a small dog for company.
I believe in life before death.

That is the saddest thing. Never bail on a friend.

People with depression can be like a person drowning who can't swim and pulls the rescuer down with them. Exhausting.
When my dad died and when my wife left me I noticed a distinct drop in friend activity.
It's a sad thing but understandable.

I could be your small dog.

That's one of the ideal occupations for a serial killer.

Have you ever considered that hobby?

So much for my secrecy.

I'm quite seldom lonely. I don't need people or electronics to keep me entertained...says the guy currently typing on the internet. Tongue   I can be completely unhooked from electronics and enjoy hobbies like wood working where I make something with my machinery and my own two hands without seeing another person for quite awhile. When I worked away from home, I read books, watched more TV than I should (because it was Florida and I don't like the climate) rode my bike and walked for exercise in a climate I didn't like, and did some coppersmithing. That was fun, working on hot projects with the only place to do it being the kitchen stove.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I’m too nice to be a killer. It’s my biggest downfall.  Confused

The situation I'm in and life issues I'm dealing with set me very much apart from all the other women here, and yes, it is extremely isolating and extremely lonely.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I spend six hours a day listening to doctors' voices, and when I go out in the evening or on the weekends it's almost always to a place that has 30 or more people -- community band rehearsals, astronomy society, the gym, a coffee shop. Alone-time is precious.
