Which side of the political spectrum holds the more morally correct set of values? 

My answer is C. For example, I am against abortion (a right leaning value) but also against the death penalty (a left leaning value).

I'm a mix myself.

Opposite your view, I support the right for women to control their own reproduction, and I support the death penalty in certain instances and for certain crimes ( multiple murder, terrorism, being an incel, annoying me...)

I voted left (A). In principle, I am more in line with C (a mix of right and left) but the current situation leads me to see the right as enemies of the public. They deny science, embrace ignorance, rally in support of old, white men, decry diversity, etc, etc, etc. They are dinosaurs intent on holding us back. Progressives are about improving ourselves while conservatives are about holding us back - and bitching about how we are not still mired in values appropriate for the stone ages.

It would be good if the two sides had meaningful debate. It would be valuable if the conservative side offered a common-sense rebuttal of why liberal proposals might not yet be practical in the current environment. But this is not what they offer in 2018. They offer nothing but utter ignorance. They offer utter nonsense like climate-change denial. They offer hatred of people not Caucasian. They offer hatred of ideals which do not include American exclusivity.

I'm supposed to respect these idiots? Sorry, but I can't. As I see it, as it is at present, only the left in American politics has any inkling of respect from me. I loath the right.

And if Tumblr is any indication, the left's identity politics are reaching the point mixing the loves of the progressive with the alarmism and reactionary attitude of the regressive, likely feeding the literal Nazis who have infiltrated the Republican Party (until recently, it was just people who had alarmingly similar views to Nazis, but with Trump, we now have the original flavour wholeheartedly supporting the Republican party). I'm just waiting for the day where someone advocates putting safe spaces for minorities at the back of the buses.

Then again, the Tumblr generation has yet to really take over the Democratic Party like 4chan did the Republican party. But maybe if they just keep pushing the Manichean "Power Plus Prejudice" Paradigm, we'll see the day where the American political system becomes completely irredeemable and everyone has become their own private ISeS (That would be the plural for ISIS, right?)
