Well then. I might have the unpopular opinion here. I don’t understand previous generations constantly dismissing today’s music, dance, technology, etc. Sure, I love my 60-80s playlist. I love going to parties where the theme is a certain decade and the music will take me back. I enjoyed play without phones and reading a book in my hand whilst having to flip pages. That doesn’t mean that what kids have today sucks. Some of their music is actually quite good. Not all of it, but back in my days, not all music was fantastic, either. It’s just easier today to put yourself out there, so talentless people get famous, too. Yes, being on your phone is disrespectful at the dinner table. I agree. But I’m annoyed by people who complain, “Oh, there they go again, taking pictures with their phone instead of living the moment.” Balance, people. If a person had a cool and expensive camera and was taking pictures, nobody would say anything. People back in my day would take pictures with one use cameras all the time. If it’s with a phone, though. The nerve! Some dude was mad that a parent was on her tablet while her kids were at the park. Why? She’s reading, obviously. If she was holding a book to her face, would that make it better? Psssssh. Grouches.
And I disagree about rap music. I like various genres of music and I can definitely enjoy some good ol’ rap when the mood calls for it. Spread your wings!
