Alert for Portions of 90 Minute CPR Procedure
#11
RE: Alert for Portions of 90 Minute CPR Procedure
I'd say that there were enough MDs in the room to make a decision about when to stop. I was told that once I started CPR I should not stop until other medical help arrived. But if that help was sufficiently medically trained, they could make a determination that stopping was the best thing to do. Given my physical condition after two hand surgeries, I'm not certain that I'd even start CPR on a person, since I wouldn't be able to do it for long. I used to be able to pick up 4-cylinder engines unassisted and put them into the engine compartment, and lift automatic transmissions up onto my chest under a car and bench press them into position. Now, I have a tough time with loosening and tightening lug nuts on wheels, and lifting 60 pound sacks of concrete. I gotta find a way out of this weak shit.  Undecided

I think the longest CPR I was involved in directly was 37 minutes.

It was on an elderly lady while her grandkids were in the other room.

To quote Deadpool, "Maximum effort".

Unfortunately she didn't make it.

I have DNR orders at both local hospitals here. This will never be an issue. If it's my time, I wanna go.
