Yes, I've been playing World of Warcraft for a few years now.

Why did you put Ayn Rand as your first influence?
She's the first author I remember influencing my thinking, outside of Christian and Baha'i scriptures. I read her books when I was in high school.

Welcome!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Stop calling him a petri dish.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

What type of math do you read?

It's been a while since I did any reading in math. The last I remember was about fractional calculus. I spent hours and hours and gave myself a headache trying to figure out a way to define a half derivative on my own, but I finally gave up and looked it up. Then I spent hours and hours and gave myself a headache learning about it. I never did get a clear view of it, or of its applications.

Yes, fractional derivatives are mostly a curiosity. At the very least, you need some Fourier analysis to even begin to see why they might be studied. But I'm not convinced they really are useful for much.

That’s just a sampling; there have been many others.
I’ve had training and experience in Christianity and in the Baha’i Faith, and for a few months I explored a pagan path.
Ayn Rand, but not Nietzsche? Carl Rogers, but not Jung? What kind of spiritual thinker are you?
J/K, of course. I am a fan of Kierkegaard and Rogers.
Welcome to AF. Baha'i seems really cool. I hadn't heard of it until I read this post.
