Romantic love involves a degree of intimacy in the sharing, a certain interdependence, and reorienting of the general spin of one's world around the other that other relationships like friendship and family do not possess.

More than that, I got nuthin'.

It's just an emotion–a sentiment, if you will. People try to define it by what it means to them or what evokes it in them. However, it's different for everyone, so you can't really define it that way. You know it when it's there, and you feel it's absence when it's not.

Romantic love is just the label people put on a set of feelings they have for other people. Some people may not put the same label on a set of feelings as other people do.

So, yes, the label, "romantic love", put on the feelings created by the chemical processes exist.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
