Why there is no common sense "bible" here?

Why there is no common sense "bible" here?
Why there are no pinned topic about basics of common sense in atheist section? Explanation of core points like "Bible and other holy books are full of claims about supernatural realm but provide zero evidence to support such grand claims".

Start one and request it be pinned and the staff will discuss it.

"Common sense" isn't common, for one. You'll notice that when it comes up it's usually in response to someone or something that makes no sense.

Ideas like having a faq or set of commonly asked and answered questions has been discussed several times in my tenure here, and decided against in all cases. Some people have put together faqs of various nature on their own, but without the support of the forum as a whole, they lack visibility. I believe Robvalue provides a page of some such, perhaps emphasizing logic rather than atheism.

It's particularly good. If this is what you're talking about.

Would be awesome if new users could easily see it on this forum. New people would have less questions.

New people will still ask questions because (looking at the ban rate here) many of them can't be bothered to follow some of the rules anyway, so even if a great thread was stickied, the gist of human nature is to ask regardless.

In a time of instant information, today's younger generation can't be bothered to waste time actually looking stuff up. They rather ask someone who might have that knowledge at the ready.

It's better that way anyway. Being on a forum is all about being social, learning new things, cutting your teeth on new stuff, and expressing yourself. Having a ready list of things as a way to discourage newbs from asking and doing is really not what you should be aiming for anyway.

Rob's site has really short and right on point essentials. Would be awesome if new people could see them and then ask.

Why would that be awesome?
