I'm more disgusted by the way Dr. Ford's sex assault allegations are being handled - or more like dismissed - than by anything else with this SCOTUS nomination. It's Clarence Thomas vs. Anita Hill all fucking over again.
The prurient media coverage, Ms. Hill/ Dr. Ford getting raked over the coals and their personal lives thrown upside down. Dr. Ford said she's getting death threats and had to abandon her home for her and her family's safety. All that just because she dared to speak up about a powerful man.

And after all this bullshit, Kavanaugh will likely realize zero consequences and still sit on the highest court in the land.
Hopefully RBG will side-eye him all day, every day.

As of now Ms Ford doesn't want to discuss her allegations against Mr Kavanaugh either publicly or privately with congress.  If she wants to make an accusation that will potentially destroy his career and possibly his life during this public process, then she should state her allegations for the public record.  This is a matter that most definitely should have been presented during the hearings and not at the last second after their closing.  We're in danger of setting a precedent for allowing unfounded last minute allegations to be brought forth just for the purpose of delaying or derailing a vote.  This stinks of being a purely political maneuver with no concern for the accused or the accuser.

If Kavanaugh, or anybody else for that matter, had tried to rape you would you be wanting to be railroaded into a kangaroo court whose only objective was to demonise you in order to protect the guilty?


Oh wait you voted for a child rapist in 2016, an attempted child rapist isn't that big of a deal for you.

Removing an elected official from office and not confirming a nominee for appointment to an office are vastly different things.

If I was interviewing someone and found that a previous coworker accused them of embezzling and passed a lie detector; I wouldn't convict them in court without more evidence, but I would be entirely comfortable in not taking a chance on hiring them. I can find another prospect.
