Hurricane Highway help...

Hurricane Highway help...

I have been trying to find help getting back from Durham NC to 17 south of Wilmington NC but have to avoid I-40. I have gone to the NCvdot but it was confusing and useless.

Google maps is plotting me on 421, but doesn't give me the exact exit number. Plus it runs parallel to I-40 so I am not so sure how good that road is.

And I don't have a tablet or smartphone so I cant use the Waze app. 

Not leaving till Friday so any help will help.
