The Romanoffs

Quote:A contemporary anthology series set around the globe featuring eight separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian royal family.

Stupid. Won't be watching it.

Can they be shot, bayoneted, face smashed in with rifle butts, soaked in acid, and thrown down a mine shaft like the Romanovs?

Unlike Romanoves, whose patriach at least met his fate stoically,  The patriarch of trumpminoffs is likely to provide hours of delightful entertainment by begging for his life and offer to throw his offsprings under the bus to save his own hide.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I guess the premise of the show is kind of stupid: why would they pick that family? I mean what's the idea behind it and what's the point of it all? And then I remembered there was one episode of Frasier when Frasier and his brother thought they themselves are Romanoffs, so I guess there is some sort of real mania about it that people want to be descendants of Romanoffs.

Remarkably stupid idea. It's pretty pathetic when these sad, sorry individuals claim to be related to historical people.  As a direct descendant of Archimedes, I take great offense.
