Child endangerment?

Attempted murder, more like.

In some US states vaccination is just the tip of the coffin.

I'm all for letting parents not vaccinate their kids, their kids their decision... that being said if they make "that decision" they shouldn't be allowed in public areas like school or daycare. Let your own kid get sick but don't ruin herd immunity for the rest of the kiddos. Also if their kid dies from something preventable then it is handled like when a kid dies from lack of medicine in general. Those crazy religious nuts should set the standard for getting thrown in jail with a murder charge.

Fuck that asshole. His job is to do his job. And if you know that certain things are extremely likely to benefit the most people, your oath is the Hippocratic oath, not to an old book of mythology. If you give bad advice on purpose for bias reasons, you should lose your licence and be sued and possibly arrested.

The shitty thing is, when I see a doctor do something like this, I have to think that he's changed his priorities, and now cares more about his political hobby, than about the profession he was trained in.

If he wants to quit medicine for politics, fine.
But at least don't encourage the superstitious anti-science nut-bags in the process.
It's irresponsible to the point of being criminal.

Yeah, the whole 'their kids, their decision' thing doesn't work when the life of a child is at stake.  Let your child play with a loaded firearm, then.  You know - your kid, your decision.  Or give the kiddies free run at your prescription meds.  After all - your kids, your decision, right?

A HUGE part of being a parent is doing what you can to keep your kids from harm.  I'm not sure how you can be '...all for letting parents not vaccinate their kids...' while at the same time advocating punishment for the parents when a child '...dies from something preventable...'

Because not vaccinating your kid isn't as unhealthy for your kid itself, it's more unhealthy for herd immunity. Chances are if you don't vaccinate and then don't have them in public areas a lot with a bunch of other unvaccinated kids your kid most likely won't get those horrible diseases. The problem is mainly because when herd immunity starts thinning the more susceptible children will start getting sick first. If a child legit can't have vaccinations due to sickness or whatnot and they are in an area with a lot of vaccinated kids they are safer, if they are with a lot of unvaccinated kids it's that weak immune system kid that suffers not so much the other unvaxxed ones. When the weak one gets sick THEN the healthy ones will get it. Your idea of comparing it to the gun is a bit naïve. There is an immediate threat there and we all know it.

At this point it looks like the douchebag is going down to the incumbent, by 44.5% to 49.4%.

It's a slim margin, but the incumbent (Kate Brown, Democrat) is projected to win.
