My sincerest condolences for your loss.
I'm available if you need to vent.
It's true that we never really know what goes on in the minds of those we think we know the best.

Wow. So sorry to see this.

I'm also sorry for the pain you and your family must be feeling.
I have never been affected by suicide as close to home as you have but I know a family who has and they benefitted a lot from support groups and individual counselling.
You probably don't want to think about that at the moment, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Sorry, hon. That sucks. My wife's 35 year old nephew killed himself a few years back and she still gets depressed thinking about it.
Find someone to talk to but not a priest. Those phonies are no help at all.
And try not to blame yourself. From what you described no one could have seen whatever internal demons he was battling.

Italics mine. There is no knowing what really goes on a person's mind. Thankfully he only aced himself, and I don't mean to denigrate the act he committed in any way. I really am sad that he did this.

Oh wow. OTRC I am so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine the horror of what you're going through.
I know we don't know each other, but if you just want to scream into a PM, my inbox is open.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

My family was also touched by suicide this year--my cousin's young husband took his own life at 21 years of age. That was hard, it hurt, but if it was my older brother??
I can't imagine. My heart cries for you.
Hold fast to his memory.

Thank you to all of you. Still not able to process much of this or talk much here about it, but THIS is who my brother was, in a "nut" shell...
His daughters and I had to search his computer---for financial info, life insurance, a will, etc. Eventually we found a reference that took us to where a locked box was in the house and where the key was. The girls asked me to be the one to physically open the top, in their presence.
There...
on the top of the stack...
written in his handwriting...
on an envelope...
were the words.......
Last Will and Testicle.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?
