Yep, it would suck if we treated our fellow human beings with empathy and compassion. 

I agree Jor, 100%. It is what I would want for myself if I was fleeing poverty and violence myself. 

The right in America is falling for the very same vile crap despots and dictators use as far as rhetoric.

What you' re all overlooking -- these folks are willing to force their way across the border. What is their motivation???? Right now - they put themselves AND their kids at greater risk by trying to force their way across the border than simply staying in Mexico....

However - when you try to force your way in - it kinda doesn't do your application any favors.

How many applications has the Brit, Chinese, Russian ect ect embasssies taken? How many have they granted?

The laws in Britain, Russia and China (full disclosure - I had to look up the last two) require a person to be physically in the country before they can apply for asylum.  In other words:

1.  You can't do it from an embassy.

2.  Walking from Honduras to any of the countries you mentioned is problematic, to say the least.
