"Un-sportsman like conduct" call just now.

"Un-sportsman like conduct" call just now.
Watching the Atlanta/Baltimore game. Fumble by Baltimore ran back for 6 by Atlanta ok, but why is slam dunking the ball through the goal post a penalty?

I can see taunting in the rival's face, but that? Seems like a mere celebration, not a taunt.

Because the uprights, have, in the past, been knocked off center when players slam dunk. The last time it cause like a 20 min delay in the game, getting them trued again. It was one of three caveats they made in allowing celebrations two years ago.

Nothing sexual, nothing violent, don't use the uprights.

You wouldn't watch your beloved Ohio State in the playoffs because of corporate ads but will watch the NFL which is, in and of itself, a corporation with all manner of ads present during the game, on the field, on the uniforms, etc.?

I mean, not on the field or the uniforms, but your point stands.

Ads aren't as of yet painted on the field in the NFL, like in College bowls, if the NFL starts doing that, I will ditch them like I did the NHL putting ads under the ice. Ohio State during regular season does not have ads on the field, although the ad in the field goal net is annoying, but more tolerable because it isn't up most of the game. Division Championships and bowl games are played in pro stadiums and during those games they fucking paint the corporate ads on the field. The NFL has yet to do that.

I don't know what you are going after, I am not anti private sector, just dont fucking beat me over the head with an ad and let me enjoy the game. I don't need to see "Discovery" credit card logo painted on the fucking field. The TV ads should fucking be enough.

I tried watching one of these games, but I got tired of waiting for someone to throw the hockey ball into the hoop.

Brian, most of those ads are CG, not painted. Same way as the signs behind home plate keep changing in MLB.

Um no, in college football they paint the ads on the field for conference championships and bowl games. And even during regular season College games for college ads are sewn into the nets for extra points and field goals. Those are not CG. Just like the ads under the ice in NHL games are not CG.

Again, I am not against business, I just don't need to see a ad every damned minute of when I am trying to watch something. It is the placement that becomes a distraction, not the fact it happens. It would be just like if you were trying to watch a movie and someone kept standing in front of the TV. Just give it a rest. It isn't a damned infomercial.

Got me. I never watch amateur sports. Or college sports. Closest I've come to that would be tutoring Drew Brees.
