I wonder if the belligerence has it's roots in my referring to "Jesus Christ" as miss slippy knickers...crime of the century perhaps: blasphemy and whatnot.

It's just the usual suspects doing what they always do when someone speaks heresy about intersectional koolaid. You can refer to miss slippy knickers by name and rank exclusively, and they will still be offended because you are lampooning the intersectional order of things. Captain Doofus can't understand things and needs Commander Grayson to guide his perspective. He lives on Main Street, and all of its intersections are inexplicably one way.

There are no Asian or Latino characters. Being white adjacent, they would confuse the intersectional narrative.

In identity one particular gaping hole in the plot was that the crew had been told to try and get the robots into the union without knowing the first thing about them! Because that's how interplanetary alliances are built, I'm sure - how very realistic.

I had been wondering from the beginning what had happened to the builders of Isaac's race. The Union does seem pretty naive to desperately want an alliance with some artificial lifeforms who openly consider biological life to be inferior and apparently haven't answered any questions about who built them. That pretty much screams Danger, Will Robinson! 

But I guess if you're a little bit open about these concerns in the Union, you might be accused of just being a white guy who feels threatened by empowered artificial lifeforms. So that poor admiral maybe always was concerned about Isaac's race and what they might do, but was more afraid of being called an insecure white dude whose privilege was being threatened if he said anything. We obviously don't need any insecure white guys questioning the motivation of empowered artificial lifeforms who openly see themselves as superior and won't answer any questions about who built them.

There's also been a couple of incidental white male aliens being stupid/pathetic in later episodes...amusing that the ridiculed demographic transcends the species/solar system divide but not the gender/race divide.

But miss slippy knickers should surely have had such concerns, and wouldn't have been shot down for voicing them. Then again, msk being msk and "Jesus Christ" she probably saw that all would be well eventually (bar the casualties of the space battle....but since when did Yahweh bat an eyelid at a bit of death and destruction) and that the rift with the Krill could be resolved (by her) using her powers of omniscient future prediction! Truly she is divine, and her knickers are slippy beyond the dreams of avarice!
