A question for the general populous about me personally

RE: A question for the general populous about me personally
I sort of tune out when x-tians are talking about x-tian stuff, but you seem like a nice guy.
What you believe is far less important to me than your personality and how you treat others.

Whether you knew me from before or not:

Would you say that you know more about what I stand for or what I stand against? Could you cite some examples or approximately qualify that?

I'm looking generally for "I can list tons more things that you're against than you are for" or "I have no idea what you're for but in our dozen of conversations I know what we disagree on", etc. Or you can list specifics on what your perceptions of what you believe I stand for or against. Maybe this is a little like a public online image perception /roast me or something, idk. Feel free to chime in.

I don't know. I don't keep track.

I missed this thread. Well you were out for a long time, yet you seem to be just I like I remember you. As to the god thinguie, yeah, you should know my opinion about that. You don't seem the kind of theist I have any problems, because you remind me of my twin devout sisters, one a psychologist another, a pharmacy director. Stereo was a thing back then Big Grin

You are just too good to be a theist. Are you a poe? That would be a long winded ruse Big Grin

So, hows that "outreach" going?  People appear to think that you're an asshole and a non-entity in equal measure. I'm being kind, ofc,..overwhelmingly, people think that you're an asshole.

Wink

So...in your own opinion...how can you fix that so as to better serve the brand? What would -you- do differently if you could start all over again?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Asking others for their opinion of oneself is a either a massive ego trip or masochistic exercise.

If you wear a sign saying"please kick me" people will usually oblige, especially if they can remain anonymous.

Being contrary creatures, people will also kick you if you wear a sign saying "please DON"T kick me."   Cool

Well, thanks. People may not like me, but that's to be expected and accepted. Very few actually said that they knew more about what I stand against, than what I stand for. That, coupled with the fact that I seem to be appear consistent. It's not a brand remake, it's more about putting out a positive message or an org despite the negativity at the individual. I personally, wouldn't/couldn't do anything differently. Maybe I would have engaged in more formal debates, when I had more time and energy. I handle people IRL the same way I do here, so my outreach really wouldn't be that different either.

You can't make people feel anything, longterm. I suppose I could buy everyone a Ferrari and that would make people happier a little possibly. Big Grin  The onus is not on me to change people's minds about me. A lot of people, myself included, come to the table with preconceptions and biases. Some of my firsts posts were quite cringe-worthy, looking back. I don't really live my life to please those outside of my family.

As for a "fix", I plan on just sharing what I have learned and what I know, and where my biases were/are to help some overcome their own (some extreme) beliefs and biases. That plus consistency, uniformity and personal responsibility general adjuncts.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Hey..whoah, I didn't say that people didn't like you.  You seem to be very well liked.  I like you.

It's just that you're a transparent asshole for christ, is all, lol.  If you don't think that you'd do anything differently you must be satisfed with that, you must be satisfied with the fact that your "outreach" has been an abject failure.

Something tells me that first world jesusism isn't going to be able to turn around the trend with an attitude like that. Any door to door salesman would tell you that it's all about attitude, Tack.

I have just been a lurker for a few months now so I don't have any one on one conversations but I remember your user name from when I was on more and I remember thinking that you were pretty decent in debating in a civil manner which I noted and appreciated.

Also if your signature makes my scrolling mess up "you're tacky and I hate you."
