No, because to say someone is normal you have also to say compared with what, to give the statement some context.

Different = Normal

The majority of people appear to think of themselves or at least try to be unique, different, separate from the herd, all the while going along the same path as everyone else. I find it more unique and interesting when a person claims to be like everyone else.

Normalcy is only applied to characters. The characters we play in front of others might be normal but the word has no use beyond interactions with others. Internally there is no normalcy, and certainly no such thing when alone.

You said most people try to be different. Studies have shown that most school kids are desperate to NOT be different, they want to conform to the extant social norm. True you get your Goths and the like, but they're conforming to the norm in their subset.

Studies have shown school kids are "desperate" not to be different. Wow. I guess people don't question the studies and believe anything they read on the internet. But what do i know? I don't hang out with high school kids, and haven't been in high school in many years. My assessment is gear more towards adults not high school kids. And its through my observation not some study. But who knows, maybe you're right. Maybe almost all the high school kids try to watch the same shows, eat the same foods, listen to the same music, wear the same clothes, and even get the same hair cut as each other.
