So true of some religious who look forward to their (imaginary) reward in their afterlife.
It's strange to me that they can do all the damage they want to this world and still find Paradise after they leave the rubble behind. If there is a god I hope it's an animal lover.

The logic of "they are in a better place" argument by theists has long since ceased to make sense to me.

So a loved one dies, for whatever reason, and they won the grand prize all inclusive trip to the cosmic after party, yet you are crying?

I wasn't feeling that when I watched my late mother take her last breath. But if we go by theists logic, I should have jumped for joy and shouted, "FUCK YEA, SHE'S DEAD, SHE'S NOW IN THE COSMIC TROPICAL RESORT SIPPING ON A BLOODY MARY!"

It is even worse if a child gets murdered by a molester, and the parents are in the news, "They are in a better place".

How the fuck does that work? If my friend buys me a lottery ticket, and I win the Megga Millions jackpot, why would I condemn the person who bought me the ticket?" If the kid is in a better place, then the person responsible for putting them in that better place should be rewarded, not condemned.

The real reason humans mourn, isn't because of some bullshit claim of a super hero and a ground troll using humans as poker chips. The real reason we mourn is because death reminds us of our own mortality, and we also have empathy for others.

If Heaven is a "better place" why do we have to be here at all?
