There's video evidence.

If it had been a black guy getting beat up after calling some white guys names, it would just be so horribly racist. It would have been a big national news story. So yeah, these guys in the video are getting a free pass. People are only outraged when white guys beat up black guys because that's a big racist meme. The black guys beating up the white guy don't register on our silly meme oriented minds, so they can post several guys beating up one guy on the internet and no one thinks that there is anything wrong with that because it didn't trigger our thilly meme oriented worldview.

You're just guessing, aren't you? Wink

If someone answers a racial slur with physical assault, they are committing an unlawful and excessive act of retaliation....in response to a racist act.
Highly unacceptable and inappropriate, and decidedly worse than the initial act in most cases.

But the retaliatory act isn't racist in and of itself. It's a reaction.
A gross overreaction, to be precise. One that does indeed warrant charges being pressed in the minds of most reasonable people, should the person who was assaulted choose to pursue them.

If the races of the parties in the video were reversed I would arrive at the very same conclusion.

No, I don't think that I'm just guessing. I appreciate the conclusion that you personally would draw if the races of the parties in the dispute were reversed. But I think that the media would make a big story out of it, sort of like what they did with Nick Sandman.

So, you think an inaccurately covered stare-off between Nick Sandman and a Native American tribal leader is evidence that the courts give a pass to folks who are recorded issuing beat-downs solely on account of being called racial slur...IF they're one of "the Blacks". They are given favor in the criminal justice system.

And none of this is guessing on your part, nor tailored to fit your narrative?

Okay. Hehe

The criminal justice system? I was talking about the media and public perception, Thena. I think that was pretty clear. When it comes to the criminal justice system, I tend to get pretty pissed off about how unfair it obviously is with black people.

When it's OK for half a dozen guys to beat up one guy for calling them a name that hurts their feelings, I call that privilege. I think that privilege should be checked. That was a real 'brave' bunch of guys that beat up that one guy. I think that they were cowards whose numbers gave them courage.

I don't like that white guy's racism. But I think that it is also racism when black people get a free pass to assault people for calling them names, when none of the rest of us can assault anyone for calling us names. If it had been a black guy getting beat up after calling some white guys names, it would just be so horribly racist.

I am opposed to the one way street. I think that black racism is just as bad as white racism. We all need to knock it off.

I don’t think it was clear that you weren’t talking about the criminal justice system.

But if you say you weren’t...then I wouldn’t agree that there’s any privilege involved, but i would agree that media is more likely to make a huge deal out of abunch of white guys beating up a black guy and completely ignore a story of black guys beating up a white guy.
This has nothing to do with privilege. It’s all about ratings.

Uh-huh...I see.

So, where's this preponderance of horrendously biased media coverage demanding justice for victims of racially-charged bar room brawls?
I must be missing it.
