I don't believe in any of it.  You can, of course, but your religion is in decline in terms of its numbers, hence, influence.

3% sport.. 3% think like you do.

21% are non christians and 70% claim one form of christianity or another. the rest belong to various other forms of worship the US.

That would mean 70% of the population has some form of connection to God has had some sort of experience to God or are you so stupid as to actually believe 70% work in the dark with no contact from God in blind faith?

We believe because we witness god in some form or fashion as some point in our lives if he is not always active.

Seems to me if you want to play a numbers game it is you who is in the dark

And, if one goes back several centuries, there were NO atheists, at least anyone who was public about their nonbelief who lived to tell about it.

We're growing, albeit, slowly.

Hmm... depends on how you view theism and atheism relative to the historical period.  Today's theism is a lot different to the pagan 'theism' that was around before the 'axial age' when cultures shifted towards the idea of 'god' actually intervening in human affairs rather than being a reflection of what was happening in human life (there's a lot more to it, obv!)  There was a lot of flux before monotheism as such became established.  It's a large and interesting topic.

Somewhat true -- in the beginning, there was only animism, which later evolved into polytheism (which was, technically, paganism), and then theism; after that came deism followed by agnosticism, and, finally, atheism.

so 5%? you are saying 3% would be a nut ball fringe sub culture that is probably made up of deniers and conspericy theorists? but 5% that's a legit number for a group?

Jerkoff

There is evidence otherwise so many would not believe. God simply is not into playing games. meaning he is probably not going to contort himself into a repeatable lab experiment as that would be proof he is not god. Meaning by definition a all powerful God could not be manipulated by man. However if you simply follow his directions... he has promised to show up... and it seems about 70% of the population knows how to follow directions.

The rest of you seem to be waiting for God that you can manipulate with whatever game of fit into this scientific box you demand he play...

or maybe back then people simply knew how to follow directions and it is all but impossible to deny God when his presences is known. maybe you guys simply figured out if you hide behind science and demand god play your game you can remain in ignorance and pretend he does not exist. However if and when you seek him on his terms no pretending is going to save you from the truth.

At work.

Hey Drich.

I don't deny any dieties.

I just don't see/know of anything to indicate that any dieties exist.

Cheers.

Ditto. I am perfectly willing to examine any evidence pertaining to the existence of God(s), but nothing credible has ever been presented to me, thus far. And the theists' claim that they simply "know" God exists is nothing more than self-delusion which can apply to ANY religion.

It's a group (atheism) that is growing; that's all that is important.
