Years ago, I went away from here for a little while, and when I came back Rob had started here in my absence.
He was already well liked with plenty of kudos and I wondered what was so good about this feller. Overtime, I realised he was quite likeable, genuinely cared about other people and was just a genuine nice guy. That's enough for me, I don't care what he believes in. But I'm not sure he believes in any of those conspiracy theories but is merely exploring them. I've explored them all myself. It's fun. I'm not sure what mental state Rob is in at the moment, but he himself has indicated that it's fragile. I've been there before, where a bad comment could ruin your day, or week. Mixing with large groups of personalities can be like aggravating a wound when your mental health is low. So he's come here to try and explain some stuff but he'd prefer to speak with people 'one on one' at the moment. That's understandable, isn't it? We wouldn't ask someone who broke their leg to walk over to our house so we can talk about it. Anyway, that's just my opinion and I wanted to get it out there. Suppose a newbie showed up - someone we didn't know, someone we had no reason to feel any particular was about. This person decides to use AF as his own personal blog; posting text walls with the caveat that he's not going to engage in any discussion whatsoever about what he posts. Essentially tells us all to like it or lump it.

In light of his long history with this forum, and the fact that he has so many friends who seem willing to wade through this shit and try to help him out, if he ever reads their responses, it makes sense. That said, I'm very much not fond of the shit and run. My patience will eventually wear thin, and I know what side my vote will land on.

I think a lot of people are hoping that whatever this weird phase he's in passes, and the 'old' Rob pops back up with a rabbit video or something. I hope he doesn't get banned, but at the same time that's down to his actions from now on.
Edit to add... I know from experience that it's hard to come back in here after making a twat of yourself.
I understand that there are rules and equally valid opinions to mine.
I can maybe be too protective of people I like sometimes. I'm willing to admit that. |
