Declawing Cats
RE: Declawing Cats

The "health problems" only have to do with if you declaw an outdoor cat. And even if you don't declaw, there is far more CANCER  risk to not spaying our neutering.

Spaying and neutering involves cutting off the path of a sperm and egg meeting DUMBASS. And no, my cat does not have balls so what the fuck are you talking about? They didn't just tie his tubes, he has no nuts.

No. declawing can cause pain in walking, because the cat's foot strikes the ground in a different way once the toes are removed.  It can also cause the back muscles to atrophy, since a cat without claws can no longer stretch properly.

You cat has no balls.  He still has a penis.

How fucking stupid are you? Fuxxake, just admit that you misspoke.

The only time I would consider that cruel, just like spaying or neutering would be if they didn't put the pet under.

Declawing a cat is no different to me than spaying or neutering a cat or dog. I would consider it cruel if you didn't put them under. I would consider it cruel if you had an outdoor cat and declawed them. Outdoor cats need their claws. Indoor cats do not. Just like indoor cats don't need their penises or vaginas.

You didn't respond...you said your cat will never get out...but he did, didn't he?

Oh my fucking god.

RISK,

No shit. He did get out, but because I fucking pay attention, he never stays out long enough to get into trouble. He even follows me in my house and gets himself locked in bedrooms. It only takes me a minute or so to figure out where he is.

Even that day he followed me out of the van, he stayed near the door I entered in the hotel. That made it far easier to call him and find him. If he were a primary outdoor cat, I wouldn't have had him declawed. But because I knew he was a big baby, even though it scared me, I knew all I had to do was call him and I'd find him.

My declawed cat, is at far lower risk of getting run over by a car or getting into a fight with a wild animal.

Yes. The answer to my question is yes.

Calm down spastic man.  You keep it up we will be talking about trans cats and the surgeries you dreamed up in your rant and rave.

Given all that, why did you have him declawed?

So, therefore, the rest of us should scrap child protection laws?

Here we can make a persuasive case that child protection benefits the society in general so enough people think they have enough skin in the game to put up with any inconvenience or imposition.  It is clearly not persuasive to major section of even our society that outlawing declawing of cats benefits the society so they would willingly put up with the inconvenience and imposition.

But if we are not to prefer humans over non-human animals, why are we to prefer animals over non-animal life?

The same reason anyone gets a cat declawed. They're just soooo scawy.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Humanity is a great example of the difference between intelligence, and wisdom. They don't always come hand in hand.

Yes, but we are the ones doing the declawing.  When cats find the means to de-tool us, that might be an important consideration for them.   It is not for us.

No matter how moral the principle, it still only exists at the sufferance of those who have reasons to abide by it.
