That' s a new one on me.

I may not have used the proper term. Those are long 'T" shaped beams of concrete, reinforced with steel rods about 1/6 of an inch thick. They are made inmolds with on demand lenght. You apply them upside down with special bricks we call "tijoleiras", then just cover it all with 1 inch concrete. Maakes a good sturdy ceiling in a jiffy and its expandable..

Oh and by armed I didn't mean the beams were packing guns Wink

My " learn something new" for the day.

It seems excessive.

Here the standard home construction is all wood - white pine - for the most part.

Windy place when it's not NW warm ocean rifts, its the NE chill winds from northern europe. Got to have them sturdy.

It's all the gvt fault because they assembled all those bigass 'fans' on the top the hills Tongue

RE: Projects
Just finished running one last piece of wood I'm using to make a box through the power sander. My (post-surgical) foot is hurting, so I'll make the last dado for the lid tomorrow, and then cut the pieces to shape and glue them together. The carcass of the box is made, dyed and oiled. Have to wait for the tung oil to cure before the final coat. It's a mighty fauncy box for coffee filters, but I felt like making something nice. Better than the plastic bag they are in now, anyway. Oil cure time is making it take about a week to produce. Pretty much all waiting time. The actual wood chopping is quick.

I got sidetracked 3 different ways. The SC2 is on hold - for now.

Just got done replacing the 1 x 6 decking on the front of my hunting blind with 5-4 x 6.(1 1/4 inch thick). After 13 years service - the 1 inch was starting to feel rickety - not a good feeling 25 feet up.

I finished and tested the new charcoal heater I built - and need to get that installed in the hunting blind. Nice dry heat - no more fogged up windows on frosty mornings that you get from.propane.
