teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

When godders say you have to just have faith, I tell them to go to the top of the tallest building, jump off, and just have faith that you'll land on your feet.

You might not get many takers - but every once in a while you get lucky...

In hinduism there is this story of two boys. One loved Krishna the other Vishnu. They would always argued over who was the better god. One day they were both on the edge of a cliff. The boy who loved Krishna said, "I'll show you that Lord Krshna is the best." He then yelled "Jai Sri Krishna!" before jumping off the cliff and LANDING without dieing. The other boy said "Oh Yeah! Jai Sri Vishnu!" then wispered "Lord Krishna, you'll help me too" before he Jumped and died.
Moral of the story is that Hindu gods are vain assholes.
